Andy Padrutt

Detective Andy Padrutt began his law enforcement career in 2006 as a patrol officer with a large department in the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex. While in patrol, he was a training officer and received numerous commendations for his high level of activity. In 2018 he transferred to the Burglary Unit within the Criminal Investigations Division. While in the Burglary Unit, he was the lead detective on several high-profile residential burglary rings. In 2021, Detective Padrutt transferred to his current assignment in the Crimes Against Children Unit. While in this unit he has investigated cases ranging from Injury to Children, Child Sexual Assaults, Kidnappings, Child Deaths, and Child Homicides among other offenses. Detective Padrutt has utilized a wide variety of investigative techniques including cellular/Google data analysis in many of his cases. Through his investigative experience Detective Padrutt has effectively worked with many local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as numerous other organizations. He has been sought out by members of his department and other agencies to assist in search warrant writing and cellular/Google mapping. In addition to his duties as a full-time investigator, Detective Padrutt also serves on his department’s crowd control team as a grenadier and assists in their training.

Throughout his career, Detective Padrutt has taught numerous classes to both law enforcement and civilians. Some of these classes include NAPD (National Academy for Professional Driving), RAD (Rape Aggression Defense), Worship Center Safety, Human Trafficking, Crowd Management, Report Writing, Search Warrants, and many other classes. Detective Padrutt holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in Political Science, a Master Peace Officer license, Basic TCOLE  Instructor certification, Safariland/Defense Technologies Less Lethal Instructor, C.R.A.S.E. (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events) instructor, and is in the process of obtaining his Subject Matter Expert certification in Cellular Investigations and Analysis.

Shane Peniston

Officer Shane Peniston began his law enforcement career in 2008 as a patrol officer with a large department in the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex. In 2013 he transferred to the Narcotics unit as an Investigator, working street to mid-level investigations seizing over a million dollars’ worth of narcotics. In 2018 he moved to the Vice Unit where he worked Internet Crimes Against Children, Human Trafficking, and gambling investigations. While in Vice, his investigations led to the recovery of multiple trafficking victims, as well as the successful prosecution of numerous human traffickers and sexual predators. In June of 2023, he transferred to the School Resource Officer Unit where he is currently assigned to a middle school. In addition to his current full-time assignment, Officer Peniston is also a member of the crowd control team at his agency.

Through his investigative experience Officer Peniston has effectively worked with many local, state, federal, and international law enforcement agencies, as well as numerous NGO groups. He has been highly commended for his interview / interrogation, search warrants, anti-human trafficking efforts, surveillance / counter surveillance, and case management.

Officer Shane Peniston obtained a bachelor’s degree from Elmira College in New York studying Phycology and Criminal Justice. He has been an adjunct instructor with his department’s training academy teaching hundreds of officers and civilians. He holds a Master Peace Officer’s License, is a C.R.A.S.E. (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events), and has taught numerous classes at his agency and with other organizations. He has also been sought out to speak as guest speaker to civic groups and local businesses.

Ryan Turner

Officer Ryan Turner began his law enforcement career with a large department in the DFW metroplex in 2008 after obtaining a bachelor’s degree from Hardin Simmons University in Criminal Justice. Ryan Turner began in patrol and received several commendations and awards for his work, including Officer of the Year for his department in 2012. Ryan became a Training Officer and for 6 years helped train several officers through the department’s field training program.

Ryan Turner was selected to his department’s part time SWAT team in July of 2012 and served for just almost 10 years. During his time on the team, Ryan was a part of running multiple search warrants, high risk apprehensions, and other tactical operations. Ryan is a firearms instructor, less lethal instructor, rappel master, night vision instructor, and was one of the team’s lead explosive breachers. Ryan was also selected to be a team leader, which he served as for 3 years.

The last two years of Ryan’s time on the team were spent as a part of the full-time team/Fugitive Unit. During this time, he assisted the unit in apprehending hundreds of offenders, some of which were armed, and a vast majority were violent. This was accomplished using intelligence gathering, networking, teamwork, communication with other units within the department, hours of undercover surveillance, and planning/scouting. While in the Fugitive Unit, the unit won Chief’s Unit of the year for their work.

Ryan is now back in the patrol division and continues to assist in the training program as a Level 1 A.L.E.R.R.T. Instructor, A.I.R.R. Instructor, E.R.A.S.E. Instructor, and a C.R.A.S.E.  (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events)  to Active Shooter Events instructor, which all deal with active attacker events. Ryan has also assisted the Academy in instructing building searches, traffic stops, felony traffic stops, and firearms with new recruits for several years.

Edward Cloud

Det. Edward Cloud was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, and graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice.  He moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex in 2008 and was hired as Dallas County Deputy Sheriff.  After ten years of service, he applied and was hired by his current employer, a large municipal police department in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.  During his time with his current agency, he was selected to be a Police Training Officer.  Det. Cloud has been asked to speak at community events, assist with the personnel hiring process, and has been included as a panelist for internal transfer interviews. In 2021, Det. Cloud was interviewed and selected to join the Criminal Investigations Division, under the General Assignment section. Shortly after, he was transferred to the Burglary unit.  In 2022, he was hand-selected to join the Crimes Against Children Unit, where he has investigated child deaths, sexual assaults, kidnappings, and injury to children among other offenses.  Det. Cloud is fluent in Spanish and is routinely asked to help translate for various units in his department.  While being in the Criminal Investigation Division, Det. Cloud has been recognized by his peers and supervisors as being very successful with interviews and interrogations.  He has received numerous commendations and recognition for his investigative work.  Det. Cloud is a TCOLE Certified Instructor and has taught numerous classes during his 16 years of law enforcement experience.
