Search Warrants

Search warrants are a key component to criminal investigations. Being able to obtain and execute a well written search warrant that will stand up to defense scrutiny is crucial. With technology constantly evolving, search warrants for electronic devices and data are also constantly changing. This course is designed to give the best practices in search warrant writing and gives a strong focus on search warrants for electronic devices, cellular data, and social media accounts. A class project will be given at the end of the first day for students to work through and bring back on day two of the class. This class is beneficial to both new and experienced criminal investigators. At the end of this class, students will have a good working knowledge of the search warrant writing process, legal considerations, and special circumstances surrounding search warrants. Students will be provided with go-by and examples of search warrants, forms, and other helpful documents they can keep for use in future investigations.

Crowd Control Tactics

4-Day Class

Public protests and riots are occurring more and more often across the United States. Agencies of all sizes are being affected by large gatherings. This class is specifically designed to cover starting a crowd control or mobile field force team and best tactics used for crowd control events. This 4-day class will have both class room and live exercises/drills. This class does involve physical activity and students should have a basic level of physical fitness. Day one will be class room only and the following three days will be primarily field exercises.

Note: This class does not certify users on less lethal devices such as 40 mm launchers, Pepper Ball, or hand thrown devices. An overview of each of these applications will be discussed and students will learn how these tools can be integrated into a Mobile Field Force team. Officers wanting to be certified in the use of less lethal weapons should attend an additional class designed specifically for that weapon system.
